Dying…

I’m going to warn you guys ahead of time: my temperature is 101.1, down from 103.9, so if this entry is a bit weird it’s because of that.

Yes, I most likely have the flu, and no, I did not get my flu shot this year, and yes, I learned my lesson in a very big way. I woke up shivering violently and freezing cold, which has never happened to me before. I mean, I’m kind of used to waking up cold because I sleep naked (so not trying to be sexual right now), but this was something else entirely.

I honestly felt like I was going to die.

I ran out of my room into the front room and basically spider monkeyed the heater, putting a chair directly in front of it and rocking back and forth, putting myself in an upright version of the fetal position. It was almost a half hour before my big brother J.C. came in (like he felt a disturbance in the force or some shit) and noticed me acting even weirder than normal. Once I told him what was going on (through chattering teeth) he scooped me up and put me back in bed and then took the entire day off work and started babying the hell out of me, and now my temperature has finally gone down to 101.1. And I feel tons better.

I swear, if anything ever happens to that man, I’m offing myself. Truth. I literally can’t live without him.

Rebecca wanted to come over and baby me too, but she didn’t get her flu shot either, so J.C. banned her from the house. I must have taken more naps today than I’ve taken all year combined.

Needless to say, I got absolutely no writing done. It’s like the universe is making me take a vacation.

And I ended the day yesterday so well – after I finished my diary entry last night my brother told me to get dressed and informed me we were going out. I’ve learned through the years that asking that man questions is akin to smacking your head into a wall, so I just dutifully got dressed and stood in front of him, ready for inspection.

Knowing that I had a horrible day yesterday, he surprised me by taking me to see the movie  What Now by Kevin Hart. I swear I laughed so hard it was almost painful, and I sorely needed to. He knew just the right thing to instantly turn my entire day around.

And then I wake up almost dying…

Anyway, I’m heading back to bed, so I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow – if I didn’t answer anyone’s email or social media messages, please don’t be upset. I promise I’ll respond to you all when I get to feeling better.

I LOVES chicken noodle soup! If I could, I would have an IV drip of the stuff! And thank you so much for the sympathy! <3
