So my big brother J.C. almost strangled me today for no real reason.
Here’s how it all went down: we were eating breakfast this morning and I was gearing up for my writing marathon, and I wasn’t really in the mood to eat anything serious, so I made a cup of coffee and grabbed a big pickle from the fridge and walked around the house munching on it while I waited for my coffee to cool. During this time I happened to pass my big brother, who was eating waffles with peanut butter and syrup on them. He also had a big glass of milk, which gave me pause.
I dunno why. It just did.
I looked at my pickle, then looked at his milk, then decided to dip my pickle in his milk and see how it tasted. It was almost comical watching my brother’s eyes get slowly bigger while I dipped my pickle – like he just couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His eyes got even bigger when I stirred the pickle in his milk for a bit and then put the pickle to my mouth, taking a big bite of it to truly experience the taste.
It tasted disgusting, and I almost threw up. My brother, by this time, was getting dangerously mad, so I skipped out of the kitchen and locked myself in my room, remembering only after the fact that the coffee I just made was still in the kitchen with him. Which is why the first 3 hours of my writing took place sans coffee. 😀 In all, I ended up writing 5 hours today, which wasn’t quite the marathon I predicted but was definitely nothing to sneeze at. Especially when I had a lot of behind-the-scenes author work to do.
By the way: my first newsletter goes out tomorrow! So if you haven’t signed up yet, please do! I already have it written, I just have to plug it into MailChimp and see how messy things get. I plan on releasing it the first of each month, so be on the lookout for that. Every newsletter will have a free giveaway of something, plus major news that took place during the month on both a personal and professional level. It will be interesting. It will also be short, because long newsletters suck.
Anyway, I’m out. Have to shower (I just finished my workout) and finish watching Gone Girl with Anne.
