This time last year, I would never have suspected that so much could happen by the time the next Valentine’s Day rolled around. I was single, just starting my writing career, and had zero energy for relationships, friendships, or holiday celebrating in general. I was in a deep relationship with my writing (still am – I keep telling Rebecca she’s my side bitch. 😀 ) and nothing else except my brother mattered.
The difference a year can make…
It was certainly the most interesting Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had: me, Rebecca, J.C., and Natalie all went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, and afterward went to go spend time with Anne (who is single) and basically vegetate while we kept her company. Nothing too exciting, but definitely fulfilling.
Of course, after arriving home, I immediately jumped on my writing – knocked out 3 hours of editing Taken, which ended up finalizing it and prompted me to shoot it out to my beta readers so they can skewer it. Oh, I also started an ongoing series, which will basically amount to a sexual soap-opera type of thing called Voyeur. What makes this series interesting (aside from the fact that I already have each book in it mapped out and plotted) is that it’s the girl who is the voyeur, and the guy who is kind of victimized by it.
