A good, simple, productive day. With a little bit of Skynet thrown in.

Dear Diary,

So, I gave birth today. I finally finished publishing, promoting, and plotting the next book for my romance book pen name, and it feels a bit like what I’m told giving birth feels like: a lot of discomfort, yes, but also a deep sense of exhausted accomplishment when its all said and done. And, of course, a strong natural bond with the end result.

No matter how many eBooks, paperbacks, and audiobooks I publish (and spread across three different author names, I’ve published quite a few) I always have a strange feeling of melancholy afterward. It’s a challenging thing to put into words, but it’s also a genuine phenomenon to me. The mathematical formula would probably look something like this: one-third relief for finally finishing a long and arduous project that took far longer than I intended, one third a strange sense of loss akin to losing a close friend or pet, and one third…emptiness. If that makes any sense, you are truly an #Alexalien.

I love what I do.

And, apparently, I’m not the only one.

A close friend of mine (someone I helped usher into the erotica business) published his fourth erotica story today, a book revolving around a character named Lexi – and upon being informed of this, I immediately went to Amazon and purchased a copy. I’m a huge fan of Lexi, and of the chronological storylines he creates with her. Here’s what he has so far (just click the book image to go to the Amazon purchase page)

Give the books a try. You won’t regret it!

To make my day even sweeter, my brother gave me Skynet (my drone) back! I immediately started piloting it around the house and spent over an hour learning how to properly pilot it, and I imagined I looked a bit like Michael Jordan back in the day getting ready for a slam dunk: tongue hanging out, eyes darting everywhere, muscles bunched, and a Zen-like focus matched with a bizarre intensity that would probably be a bit scary to an outside observer.

All in all, it was a good, simple, productive day.

The best kind. Hands down.

😊

Yes, you got Skynet back! Please be careful on your drone and not to use for kill or injuring this time even on purpose, sweetie or I’ll put you over my knee! As for your next story, I can’t wait to read that one too! 😊😗 But, I’m glad your day was peachy dandy! I have all four Lexi books in my wish list on Amazon!

I love Lexi. She’s an awesome character. I bought all four books as they were released. 😊

That made complete sense to me. Glad you had a good day but for real be careful of that drone you’ll put your eye out like Ralphy and the red rider bb gun.
