Agent Aika

 

 

Tokyo has sunk into the ocean, along with most of the world, during a large-scale land subsidence. Aika Sumeragi is a salvager who works for a small company run by a father and daughter tandem. Alas, the company isn’t exactly successful, and money is needed desperately. Thus, Aika accepts the very dangerous job of acquiring an artifact called Lagu for a hefty sum. The boss’ daughter Rion joins Aika on this particular mission, and the two set off.

Please don’t think the three-heart rating means I dislike this anime. I don’t. In fact, it’s fun, colorful, and ecchi as all hell, and the best part? It doesn’t take itself too seriously. However, the things that make me like this anime also make me dislike it, because not only does it excel in each of those areas, but it also goes far above and beyond.

Let me explain.

It is fun, and while there is a story (however simple and overly linear it may be), it doesn’t really seem like it’s trying to tell a story if that makes any sense. Like, it’s there, but it’s more an excuse to throw innumerable panty shots and ecchi moments at you machine-gun style than anything else.

See, this was gifted to me from a friend of mine, and when I checked out the DVD case, I could tell how lewd it was going to be – so Anne and I decided to do what any sane anime lovers would do when presented with such a situation: we made a drinking game out of it. 😂 Before we even watched the first episode we set the rules: for every panty shot, we took a sip of our drink.

We didn’t make it past the first episode.

And we woke up the next morning hungover as all hell.

There were so many panty shots. So many.

I mean, damn. I saw more panties in that first episode than I’ve seen in real life 😳. And they used every camera angle and every reason possible to show them to you. And all white panties (which I hate) at that. It was so ludicrous that it was impressive.

They don’t draw the line there, either. I thought this was going to be ecchi, but moments are straight hentai. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. It was an assault on my libido. We were laughing the entire way through the first episode. I loved it.

You might, too, especially if panty shots are your thing. You can buy them easily enough on Amazon or watch them on (uncensored!) on Tubi for free. There are, apparently, a ton of spin-offs. Let me know what you think!
