That Time Of The Month
It’s getting closer. That time of the month. And no, I don’t mean my period – I mean the end of it. The month, that is. Not my period. I’m not even on my period. God, I hate words sometimes! 😀
If you even remotely know me, you know that the end of the month is a huge deal, because I always have a flurry of things that have to be done: website updates to get to my web dude, new release, newsletter, new social media graphics, advertisements, audiobook negotiating / managing, paperback creation (which takes way longer than it should), bill paying (what, you thought being an author didn’t cost anything?? You beautiful fool you. 😛 )
Not that I’m complaining at all. Back when I first started writing (a little over a year ago) I thought everything was just about – you know – writing. I figured, hey, write some stuff, figure out how to publish it, and bam. Done. Repeat until die.
Boy. I was so wet behind the ears. 😀
The only thing that still surprises me is how unhelpful other authors are out there. Part of me gets it: competition and all. But another, bigger part thinks it’s childish as hell. I welcome competition. Some erotica authors I know I blow out of the water, while others wipe the floor with me. And I absolutely love it. It makes me step my game up, forces me to become a better, more focused. But then, I’ve always loved competition. Others….apparently don’t.
So let me just throw this out there: if any of you are interested in becoming writers, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. If you have a question, I will answer it to the best of my ability. Granted, I’m still learning, but I’ll help you the best I can. The more the kinkier. 😉
Anyway, I have tasks to attack before I go to bed, so…
