Sleep is for the weak…
So I was drinking last night, and for some reason, the alcohol acted like a super-coffee and kept me awake and strangely productive. I legit felt like a vampire. I mean, I barely blinked, much less rested, and I knocked everything off my task list and then some (like creating – but not quite finishing – a Patreon account. More on that another later.) It was glorious.
Until I remembered that the bestie and I had plans to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi today. I didn’t remember this until about three hours before our ticket time, and it was like all the fatigue slammed into me at once. I stumbled my way to bed, face-planted on top of the covers, and about 30 seconds later received a text from the bestie saying how excited she was. So I set three different alarms (my alarm clock, my phone, and my Pebble) and did my best to power-nap.
It more or less worked, and by the time we got to the movie (30 minutes early) I was raring to go.
And the movie…
Let me start by saying this: I am a huge Star Wars fan. I came into the film wanting to love it, as I have the majority of the ones before it. That being said, I was about 80% smitten by it. It was a fantastic movie, with only three things I didn’t like about it.
- It was long. Over two and a half hours. I’m not used to watching movies of that length, especially in a movie theater. It made good use of the time though. It was just long.
- There seemed to be a lot of forcefully injected comedic moments in the film that just felt out of place. Like it was trying to hard to be funny at times, taking away from the tone of the scene just to get a quick giggle from the audience. It seemed odd to me, and it was something I hadn’t experienced in a Star Wars movie before it. I didn’t like it. I hope they don’t continue doing this.
- There were a few scenes that made me raise my eyebrows, but none more so than Princess Leia turned Superwoman in space. If you’ve watched the movie, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you’ll cringe when you see it. Almost everyone in the theater did…
There you go. Other than those three issues, the movie was excellent. I loved it. They need to hurry up and make the next one already! It made me want to start writing fan fiction set in the Star Wars universe. Maybe that would be a good project for Wattpad.
Anyway, time to shower and slip into the realm of dreams…

– Shawn Mendes
I saw the movie with a friend of mine today and those were the three problems I had with The Last Jedi but It was pretty good even for its flaws. Please, put it on wattpad! Wow, the alcohol really did a number on you, Alexa!
The alcohol really did. No more drinking for me this weekend! 😀 And about the Wattpad thing…I may just do that… 😛
